How much should managed IT services cost in Singapore? It is the first question every business asks us, and the honest answer is: it depends on a handful of things you can understand in the next few minutes. In this video we explain the pricing models providers use, what actually drives your monthly cost, and how to compare two quotes that look completely different on paper.

Let us start with the models. There are three you will see in Singapore.

The first is per user pricing. You pay a fixed monthly fee for each person covered. It is the most common model for small and mid sized firms because it scales predictably with headcount. In Singapore you will typically see ranges from about forty to one hundred and fifty dollars per user per month, depending on what is included.

The second is per device pricing. Servers, firewalls and laptops are priced separately. This suits environments with shared machines or heavy infrastructure, like a trading floor or a warehouse.

The third is a fixed monthly retainer for an agreed scope. Common when a firm wants budget certainty and a defined set of responsibilities, for example full management of a fifty person office.

Now, what actually drives the price inside any of those models? Five things.

One, the service hours. Business hours support costs less than twenty four seven cover with a guaranteed response time. If your team works Singapore hours only, do not pay for round the clock cover you will never use.

Two, what is included versus billed as extra. This is where quotes diverge. One provider’s per user fee includes Microsoft 365 management, patching, antivirus and backup monitoring. Another’s covers remote support only, and everything else is chargeable. A cheap quote with a long exclusions list is usually the expensive option by month three.

Three, on site support. Regular on site days cost more than remote first support. Some firms need an engineer in the office every week. Others need one twice a year.

Four, security and compliance requirements. If you are regulated by MAS or handle sensitive data, you need monitoring, logging, patching evidence and vendor management on top of the basics. That work is real, and it is priced in.

Five, the state of your environment today. A neglected network costs more to take over, because the provider inherits the risk. Many providers price in an onboarding or remediation project at the start.

So how do you compare quotes fairly? Ask every provider the same five questions. What exactly is included, in writing? What are the response and resolution targets? What is excluded and charged separately, and at what rate? How do you handle on site work? And what will you charge us in month one versus month twelve?

When you get those answers side by side, the right choice usually becomes obvious, and it is rarely the cheapest line on the page.
